It's difficult to say whether you will find the cost of living in Oman to be better or worse than your current cost of living without knowing where you live currently. The public transport infrastructure in Oman is not very good so I would recommend either buying a car or asking your company to provide a car (either with or without a driver). The Expat Arrivals Transport and Driving in Oman page has more info.

Dear Rajan, Average cost for an independent Flats in Barka Oman is as follows: 2 BHK - OMR. 250/- Studio Flat - OMR. 150/- (But rarely available). You can get a independent Room (sharing accommodation) @ OMR. 60/- to OMR. 75/-. Average Electricity and water bill upto OMR. 30/-. Barka is a small town and in developing stage. If your Office is located within Barka itself, the cab driver will ask for OMR. 1 to 1.5 but you can bargain for the trip. Every places in Barka is within the reach of 5 kms. Hope this information will be useful.
