Hi guys, I'm really interested in moving to Eindhoven. What advice is there for a family of three with a five-year-old child? I'm a Portuguese executive chef. For the last 10 years, I've lived in Greece. I understand a little German because the last two years I've been working winter seasons in Austria also as an executicve chef. I would like to hear school recommendations and house sites and if possible job sites. Thanks and sorry for a lot of questions.

Hi, Chef Braga. Typically anyone in the food industry shouldn't struggle to find a job abroad. You can consider contacting large hotels in Eindhoven to see if they have vacancies. You can also search for recruiters or job sites that are specific to the food industry.
The national language in the Netherlands is Dutch, not German. So, German can help you a little but not a lot.
What languages do your children speak? How old are they? If they are very young, you can put them into a public school in Eindhoven. The standard of education is very high and schools often have programmes to help foreign children learn Dutch. If your children are older or unable to learn a new language, you should consider an international school, but these schools can be very expensive.
For accommodation, the best would be to search for Dutch websites or real estate agents.
Have a look at our guide page on Eindhoven for a better idea of what the city offers. I hope this helps a little.
