Hi everyone,
I'd like to get some opinions. I have a friend who lives in Nairobi and I'm considering moving there when everything settles down in the world and things go back to normal. I'd like to move for a year (maybe longer) to experience something new. I also love the idea of a warm climate most of the year! Does anyone have any personal experience in Nairobi or Mombasa? What is it like living in either city? Is Mombasa better for living in or for visiting? I'm thinking that it be better that I live closer to someone I know in Nairobi for things like settling in and in case of any emergency, but I'm still open to Mombasa.
I'm grateful for any advice!

Hey!
Although I don't speak from personal experience in Kenya, I can speak from personal experience in moving to a new country – it is often easier if you have a friend nearby. They can show you around, help you meet other people and help ease any stresses you may have. It's a different experience moving somewhere you don't know anyone, but still just as exciting. We have guides on Nairobi and Mombasa, have a look at both. Those cost of living in Nairobi is much higher than Mombasa as it's the capital, though it may be easier to find a job in Nairobi. You mention in case of emergencies, so I'd say you should prepare yourself for what to expect, read up on Safety and Healthcare in Kenya and Nairobi.
Ultimately the decision is yours, but there are lots of pros and cons of moving that you can weigh up! I've shared a few links here and I hope they and the rest of our guide help.
All the best with the decision.
