Montessori School in Sydney

The Inner Sydney Montessori school is probably the most widely known, and has a campus in Lilyfield and in Balmain. To enrol your child as a transfer you'll need to bring the following:

-confirmation of enrolment in a previous Montessori school
-copies of all recent reports
-a letter from the director of the previous Montessori school

You will then be granted an enrolment interview if their is a vacancy. It's best to contact the school directly and find out as much as possible prior to leaving the US.

Hi, We live in Sydney's South Eastern suburbs and know a few Montessori preschools: Firstly, Montessori Works have three preschools: http://www.montessoriworks.com.au/ I looked around the Maroubra Beach and Randwick schools for my son and both have a nice feel. I haven't looked around the Maroubra Junction school but know people who have children who attend and they're very happy. I've met the Principal of the schools and she's passionate about Montessori and the schools have good resources. I would expect all of these schools are getting filled up for next year so would contact them soon. Randwick is a quick commute to the CBD, Maroubra will take longer but property cheaper. Montessori East is another school I have heard off, based in Bondi, but I don't know anyone with children at the school. We live in Sydney's South Eastern suburbs and are familiar with Montessori Works - they have three preschools: Maroubra Beach, Randwick and Maroubra Junction. I have friends with children who have attended Maroubra Junction and been very happy. I've personally looked around Maroubra Beach and Randwick and both have a nice feel. I've met the Principal and she's passionate about Montessori, the schools have good resources.

Randwick is closer to the CBD (a short bus ride) but would be more expensive to get a rental property than Maroubra.

Montessori East is another school I've heard about although I don't know anyone with children who attend. The school is in Bondi. There are a few photos of the school on their website.

I think preschools in Sydney are getting filled up for next year, finding preschool places can be competitive. I would start contacting schools now and even pay a few enrolment fees so that you're not disappointed in January when you arrive.

In case you are still looking for Montessori schools in Sydney one that has not been mentioned but would be close to the Sydney CBD is the Cameragal Montessori school in North Sydney. They have three campuses, two preschools and one new primary school (new this year). We have been completely impressed with the school and have a 7 and 5 yo both there now. They usually don't take late arrivals but think they are happy to take boys at the moment to balance up a girl heavy class.
