My partner has just moved to Riyadh to work. He has a uk unlocked iphone however this doesnt seem to accept a Saudi network sim card. Is it possible for him to purchase a pay monthly iphone contract for the period of time that he is there for?

Hi
sorry for delay

Mobile phone system in Saudi is opperated different to UK - phones are all sold unlocked and contracts are only for sim cards - these can be contract post paid or pre paid (pay as you go)

To the point in question - your UK phone should work here if it is in-locked using a UK sim on roaming alternatively you can just pick up a local pay as you go sim - this may be the wrong size but both big and small sims are available also shops will cut a big sim down to fit the I phone

Pre paid sims can be purchase at airports of operator shops (STC, Mobily, Zain) are the mobile providers.

Hope this helps - let me know if you need any more info.
