Your biggest expense when making the move to Riyadh is likely to be accommodation. SAR 3,750 will be more than enough to cover your housing costs and you could get a room in a shared apartment for around SAR 1,500 and save a lot of money.

Most expats do tend to buy themselves a car in Saudi Arabia. You'll find the cost of purcahsing and maintaining a vehicle is reasonable in Saudi Arabia, especially since petrol prices are so low.

Whether you are able to save SAR 8,000 per month will depend on your lifestyle. How often you go out to eat or whether you purchase luxury items, etc. I'd have a read of the Expat Arrival's Cost of Living in Saudi Arabia page to get a better idea of the expenses you can expect.

hi,, I have been offered a job at princess nora university in riyadh, everything was going well and last week i sent copies of all my family's passports. yesterday, my recruiters called me and told me that saudi government has changed some rules,, apparently,, teachers coming to saudi arabia can only bring their dependants if they hold a masters degree. has anybody else heard this,,, ??
