My husband has just accepted a job offer from Dubai. We are residing in Kuwait at present and will be shifting by January 2013. My husband has a valid work visa of kuwait for a year. Can he keep his Kuwait visa as well as his work visa in dubai? Does he have to cancel his work visa in kuwait and then come to Dubai.

I have no idea about set-in-stone rules with regard to holding multiple residencies visas. I worked and lived with my family in Qatar before we moved to Dubai and we cancelled our RP's in Qatar. Now I am planning to move back there and the sponsor requires me to provide them with copy of RP cancellation page. It is recommended that your Kuwaiti RP to be cancelled first before you move to UAE.
