I would like to ask you, what Is the punishment for smoking and carrying hash for personal use in Oman?

Hi Amira,

It is important to remember that activities which are not illegal or that you might get away in your home country will be treated far more severley in this region.

According to British Foreign and Commonwealth Office : 'The penalties for drug trafficking, smuggling and possession, of even residual amounts of drugs are severe. The possesion and import of even the smallest amount of drugs can result in a prison sentance and, in some cases, the death penalty. There is no distinction in Omani law between 'soft' and 'hard drugs; both are treated with equal severity.''

Therefore it is best to stay away from marijuana whilst in Oman.

it is a big deal here. I am Omani and i strongly advice u not to use. if you were willing to take the risk like i do, u gotta be super careful. get from a trusted friend who's not careless or he's probably being tailed. be careful when making deals CID's here are son's of bitches! smoke up at home! the sentence is 6-months in jail with a panelty, if not even more!
