Hello all,
I'm due to do a four month work placement in Nairobi this coming summer, and I'm now starting to think about living and accommodation.
Rather than the luxury apartments and hotels that I've come across so far I'm looking for something a bit more modest.
My main concern is finding somewhere as cheap as possible, whilst still being relatively safe and practical to commute to Eastleigh.
Open to suggestions and ideas. Thanks, Tom

Nairobi is an expensive city and rent is high. I think you'll be looking to pay at least KES 40,000 per month fore secure accommodation.
Most expats living in Kenya will employ security guards to keep watch over their priority. If you choose to live in a complex then security is likely to be provided in your rates.
If you have a look at our Accommodation in Nairobi page you'll find lots of tips on finding accommodation in Nairobi as well as details on areas and suburbs recommended for expats.
Good luck
