Deciding whether I should accept a job in Abu Dhabi. the salary includes benefits such as medical aid and a transport allowance, but no accommodation allowance. I've heard housing in Abu Dhabi is expensive. How shyold I go about looking for an apartment in Abu Dhabi and what's it likely to cost me?

Hi Jonny, you're right in saying that the cost of accommodation in Abu Dhabi is expensive. It's therefore imperative that any job offer you accept there makes some allowance for this - whether the company provides the accommodation or provides a monthly allowance for this. Housing can cost as much as 50 percent of your salary, but of course this all depends on where you want to live in the emirate and also on your particular circumstances and shousing needs. I suggest you take a look at our Accommodation in Abu Dhabi page for more on the housing options there. Also, take a look at our page on Cost of Living in Abu Dhabi, which may help put things into perspective.
