What is the approximate timeline for getting a work visa for Saudi Arabia?

Hi There, I have accepted a Job offer in Riyadh and is Business Development Position in the Life Sciences/Biotechnology field. My employer has applied for my VISA with MOFA in Riyadh and is Saudi based company. Normally what is the lead time for getting the VISA approved? Thanks for all your suggestions and thoughts. Hi Devan

The rough timeframe that is usually given for the visa process in Saudi Arabia is six to eight weeks. Given that much of the responsibility for getting your visa processed lies with your employer, it is difficult to give an exact estimate.

Hi Xavier, Thanks much for your feedback and wishes.I have also read through the process through your link. My VISA was applied during the first week of June2014.Is it a good time assuming I get the VISA by end of the month (as per my employer). Is it good to arrive for work during the fasting month or after the completion of Ramadhan? Your personal suggestion would be great as I need to look for housing and conversion of my driving licence. Hi Devan

Things always move a bit slower during fasting times, but that just means things are likely to be more difficult, but generally not impossible. If you can arrive when Ramadan is over, do that, but don't worry too much if you can't.
