I have a valid employment visa till 2016 for oman. I came back to India because of an emergency and now i dont want to go back oman, because my sponsor company is not good. I want to know how I  can cancel my existing visa on my own from India and take a job in another country. Will my existing visa affect my chances to get a job in other country? What do I do now? Please help.

Hi Dhaval

Have a look at our Visas for Oman page to get a better idea of how the system works. It is likely that, unless your employer gives you a no objection certificate, you may face a ban in Oman.

This is unlikely to affect applications to other countries, however, it is likely to affect the reference you would get from the company in Oman.

It might also be more difficult to find employment in a country that uses a kafala system although there is no legal basis for this, since countries have their own internal visa processes.

Best of luck,

Xavier

Hi there

Sure. If you abscond from Oman which uses a kafala or sponsorship system, then it may be more difficult for you to get into another Arab country that uses the same system.

This is not necessarily the case, but if an employer or the government in the country you're applying to finds out that you have absconded before, they might be hesitant to give you a contract or allow you in.

Still, I am not a lawyer, so this isn't a legal opinion, more of an educated guess.

Best of luck,

Xavier

Hi How am going to cancel my past visitation visa of Oman

As far as I'm aware you shouldn't need to cancel it, especially if the visa is past its validity date (six months from issue). Click over here for more info on visas for Oman. But it's a good idea to contact your local Omani embassy for confirmation on if you need to cancel the visa or not, and if you do need to cancel it, they can tell you how to do it.

Hi, Your Oman employment visa gets cancelled in the Oman immigration system by default once you are out of Oman for a continuous period of 6 months or more. Hence there is no need for you to cancel your visa. Moreover it gets expired next month, hence you should not bother much about it, unless your sponsor has filed an absconding case against you. You can work in other countries without any hassle. You will have a 2 year visa ban in Oman from the exit date from Oman and this can be taken off if you get NOC from the Omani Employer who sponsored you the current visa. Regards, Ajay
