Do I need to make an appointment to see a doctor in Buenos Aires?

is it correct I need to purchase a health insurance policy?

Hi there, 

Argentina provides free or highly subsidised healthcare of a high standard but you need to make an appointment for non-emergency situations. This generally means long waiting times as a large percentage of the population use these services so for that reason many expats opt for private health insurance.
