Best area to live in Rome with young kids?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Rome
My husband has received a job offer from the FAO in Rome, and we're considering moving there at the start of next year. We have two kids, and we'd likely want to enrol them in the American international school as his contract is only 2 years, and it doesn't seem worthwhile to put them in an Italian school. Can anyone recommend a good area in Rome that would be ideal for families and in close proximity to the school/work. We haven't decided if we're going to get a car yet, is this a must?

Bringing a dog to Hong Kong

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Hong Kong
We're moving to Hong Kong in November, and we'd really love to bring "Pickle", our honorary fifth family member with. I see that quarantine is not required to bring a dog to Hong Kong, but can anyone with pets give us an indication of how pet-friendly the city is? Contrary to his title, Pickle is a very rambunctios (and overweight) labrador.

Hi, I am a degree-qualified HR professional with 5 yrs experience (also with about 7 years hospitality experience - waitressing, bar, kitchen), looking for work in Vienna. I've done the usual i.e. checked all UN job ads, been on many of the international company sites and now have applied to most english-speaking bar/waitress jobs but does anyone have any ideas or further avenues you could possibly suggest.

Family-friendly suburbs near Oslo

Destination: Oslo
My family and I are moving permanently to Norway in a few months from now. Since Oslo is the most expensive city in the world, we would like to live in a suburb, but not far away from the capital (max. 20 minutes drive) since this is where we will be working. Our daughter is 20 months old, so we would like to live in a family-friendly suburb, with lower rents than Osly. Any suggestions? Thanks

Volunteer Opportunities in Angola

Expert Info

Destination: Luanda
My husband might take a job in Angola. I know I can't work there unless I'm already working before I get there, but I'm interested in volunteering somewhere. I speak excellent Portuguese (grew up in Brazil) and have excellent project management skills. I'd probably prefer something where I could use the Portuguese -- holding bake sales in the American compound doesn't hold a lot of charm. Are there opportunities, how would I go about finding one, and how would I go about making sure I'd have some modicum of safety?

Is there any way to avoid quarantine for your pet in Singapore? I want to bring Ruffles, my 10-year-old bulldog with me, and I just know he's not going to take to life in a cage for 30 days very kindly. He's tempermental as is, but I can't bear the thought of parting with him - he's part of the family.
