Destination: Norway
Guys, I am moving to Norway with my family in a few months. I was wondering if it is common to rent apartments/houses in furnished condition or not? I am going to leave in Oslo and hopefully not in the city center, but in suburbs like Sandvika. If furnished one is also an option, what is the effect on rental? and how is the quality of furniture in general? Long story short: do you recommend to look for furnished or unfurnished?

Living costs in Vancouver?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Vancouver
Thinking of moving from Ontario to Vancouver and I just wanted to make sure I could afford to live in the one of the world's "best cities to live in" (at least according to the Economist Intelligence Unit). Can anybody give me a quick run-down of living costs in Vancouver? I know this is a highly variable subject, but I don't demand a lot of luxury - so just an indication of essential expenses would be great.
Ciao!

Cost of budget housing in Jeddah

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Jeddah
I have recently signed a contract to work at KAU in Jeddah. The housing allowance is 17,000 SAR for the entire year. Posters on another forum have told me this is not much. I will be working by myself with no family and my lifestyle is spartan to put it mildly. I'd like to be within 2-3 miles of the school if possible but I get a transportation allowance so I could go further out. 1. Is it possible to rent an efficiency unit for this amount of money? If so, would it include utilities? 2. Do people with larger apartments or homes ever advertise for roommates?
