Hi there

I would be grateful if you could provide me with some information in regards to visas and residency permit which I am finding difficult to obtain and understand. I am currently working in China under a Z visa and residency permit and also having a foreign expert certificate.

I want to inquire into what the procedure would be to gain/renew or transfer my employment permit to a new employer when I complete my contract with my current employer. How does this work and what documents will I need?

Basically how does visa work in regards to changing to a new employer?

I would be very grateful for your advice.

Many thanks

Hi Zela,

The work permit process for China is very difficult and your work permit has to be sponsored by a particular company, which makes it quite difficult to swap jobs. You will have to go through the whole process again if you want to change jobs.

Take a look at the Work Permits for China for more information.

Good luck
