Anyone got any insights to share about doing business in Kuwait? Might be moving there soon, but as a woman I'm not sure if I will fit into the business circles there, especally since I will be coming from the States...is it very Arabic or more Westernised? Any particular customs I should be aware of?

Hi Kate, although Kuwait is an essentially Arabic country and business is typically male-dominated, you will find that women have a lot more freedoms than in some if its more conservative neighbours. Women are slowly finding a way into some top positions and there are even women occupying important positions within the Kuwaiti government. Business culture is generally Arabic, but English is widely spoken as the language of business and many Western practices are part of Kuwaiti business culture.
