Hi.
I would like some advice from expats in Qatar. I have been offered a BDM position with a large group, and I visited Doha for a day last week. I'm due to join this company in December. The salary I have been offered is QAR 12,500 per month plus 2 bedroom furnished accommodation and other benefits such as bonus/performance incentives / family status etc I am single as of now, will probably get married to my girlfriend later in 2013.
Is that salary sufficient? What is the Cost of Living like in Doha ?

The average salary for a Business Development Manager in Qatar is around QAR 39,500 per month. However, that doesn't include an accomodation allowance and the benefits you have mentioned.
Accomodation prices vary tremendously in Qatar and a two-bedroom place costs anything from between QAR 5000 to QAR 15,000 depending on where in Doha you choose to live. You will need to weigh this and other benefits up with you salary offer before you choose to accept.
I would advise you to read the Expat Arrival's page on the Cost of Living in Qatar and this article on A comparison of expat salaries in the Middle East. I believe that these resources will help you decide if the salary package offered is worth accepting.
If you are not happy with the offer, do not be afraid to go back to the employer and negotiate a better employment package. If your skills and experience are in demand, the company will be happy to make certain allowances to accomodate your wishes.
Good luck with the decision !
