I have recently moved to live within the United Kingdom capital - London. The city is wonderful and all that jazz but.. It turned out I wasn't fully aware of a thing or two.. I went to rent with this really polite and nice looking gentleman in Islington but just after we signed the tenancy agreement and right before I was to move in with all my belongings, possessions and etc. a so called "property inventory" was conducted and I was shown a receipt from this company www.ticktickcheck.co.uk I wasn't aware that independent adjudication is such a big deal is a must.. So the question here is which party is responsible for such an independent inventory service? Isn't it the landlord? After all he's the real estate owner? I'm simply a housing renter.. It's not my obligation to monitor the property condition and etc.. Please and thank you

As a UK landlord myself, this is a cost that I would always cover. However I have previously heard of some unscrupulous agents charging both the landlord and the tenant.
