Dear, I got a new academic job in a university in UAE, but I have read that the HBV positive cannot work in UAE. The regulations has been changed in Feb 2016 such that all newcomers will be tested and deported if they are HBV positive? is that true for all cases or just for the six categories?

Greetings of the day. I had worked in UAE (Abudhabi) for approx. 1 month (from September 2009 to November 2009) and returned on medical grounds. Attached here with scan copy of passport pages with all immigration STAMPS made on Passport for that trip. The officials did not inform me the reason why I was sent back to India; however, it found out that i was found to be carrying Jaundice while getting treatment in India. I was treated for 1 month and on medication for 3-4 months with diet control. After returning, i joined my previous company at the in the previous profile and continued in it until I joined KSS. Mentioning this for your information, that I had been informed that jaundice is been removed from the deporting medical reasons list in 2010 around except for the profession involving direct contact. In addition, I just checked myself with HbSG test couple of months after treatment and found out to be clear of its carriers. I had undergone medical tests for Kazakhstan work visa where everything is clear. Recently i got employment offer from Saudi Arabi, i would like to join . Could you please let me know, am i eligible to work in Other GCC Countries?

Hi Tetolaith

Unfortunately I am unable to find confirmation whether or not the rules have changed to encompass other professions, so I would recommend that you contact the relevant Abu Dhabi or Dubai embassy to find out.

Kind regards,
Alex

Hi! I have a TB scar and hepatitis B active. I have been reading that for newcomers these will automatically stop you you from getting a visa, are these applicable to all newcomer's profession or limited only to those who have a direct contact with humans. Thank you for your help!
