Most banks don't approve Israeli credit cards if you don't have at least 3 months of job history on the books - meaning you don't have proof that three paychecks have automatically been deposited in your account. Some bank will approve you for a credit card if you have a large fixed sum in your account. And in some cases - and especially if you're incredibly convincing and good-looking, you can make an appointment with the bank manager and plead for approval. Though banking rules are strict in Israel, most managers have the power to wave the laws if they see a reason to do so.
