I actually know someone who retired in the Volga region a couple of years ago. They absolutely love it! The cost of living is pretty affordable compared to many Western countries, and the scenery is beautiful, especially along the river. They mentioned that the locals are friendly and welcoming, which made settling in a lot easier. If you’re into nature and a slower pace of life, you’ll probably enjoy it.
