I am a single mom moving to Toronto Canada with my two children and just wondering what there is to do in Toronto with kids?

Hi! Welcome to Toronto! It's a great city, which has a lot to offer, and much for kids in particular. The Toronto Zoo is worth repeated visits, as are the Science Centre, and Royal Ontario Museum. The Toronto Islands, reachable from downtown by ferry, offer an amusement park for young children, and a beautiful green area for family picnics, and even beach visits in the summer. The city has many parks and bike trails. It is a culturally diverse city, so children can benefit from learning about many cultures, even learn other languages. There are of course many soccer leagues, and other organized sports, with community centres in each of the many neighbourhoods in the city. Public libraries, day camps during the summer, and a good school system, further contribute to making Toronto a good city in which to raise children. Good luck with your relocation, and I hope you all enjoy your new experiences in Toronto.

Canada has some world-class tertiary education facilities. Like schools in Canada, there is no national standard for tertiary education; rather, education is managed by each of the individual provinces. The standards and costs at these facilities will vary widely, and finding the right one will also of course depend on what sort of thing your children want to study. Are you moving to Toronto? There are several good tertiary institutions in Toronto, including St George's. I suggest you explore the individual web sites of these institutions to see which one will meet your needs and budget.

Since this is a big question, may I suggest you post a new question on the forum (rather than a reply to this thread) - as you may get more responses that way.

You can go through the personal section on Kijiji http://www.kijiji.ca/h-gta-greater-toronto-area/1700272 and search for moms with young kids in Toronto or create an ad of your own. Other than that you can also join groups on Meetup. It's a great way to make new friends. Hope that helps! :)
