Hi everyone. I just got an offer with GE and i'm planning to relocate to norway to take up the new role. my gross salary is 60000NOK. Can anyone tell me what to expect on taxes I will pay as I have just found out that taxes in norway are very high.
Also I need to know where I will get a modest one bed room accommodation probably for one year. What are the rage of rents to expect. Do I need make an advance payment?.
Is is possible to get a room apartment that is furnished?
What do I expect on transportation to and from from my work location if not residing in the same town.
Thank you for useful responses.

The cost of living, accommodation and taxes in Norway are all very high. It's the price you pay for a very good quality of life and high living standards.
Taxes in Norway are high and you will be taxed at least 30 percent of your salary. See Banking, Money and Taxes for more information.
The price of your accommodation will depend on where you are moving to. See Accommodation in Oslo and Renting a property in Oslo for more. If you are working in Sandvika, your accommodation will be much cheaper than if you were working/living in Oslo itself - accommodation in the city centre is very high. I suggest you contact some estate agents in Norway directly for price ranges on accommodation in Scandika.
Also be sure to check out the Cost of Living in Norway page for more information on what your general living expenses will be - of course, this will depend on your lifestyle, but in general prices will probably be higher than you are used to.
On transport, see Getting Around in Oslo and Transport and Driving in Norway. Scandika is easily accessible from Oslo by public transport.
