Hello. Me and my husband are thinking of moving to Hong Kong. Cannot seem to get a clear answer on-line on this. Will I be able to work on my spouse visa or would I need to apply for a work visa separately?

Thank you in advance!!!

Hi!

From my research, it seems like the spouse holding a Dependent Visa can live, work, and study in Hong Kong as long as the principal visa holder is permitted to stay in Hong Kong. However, dependents of persons who have been admitted to study are not permitted to take up employment unless they have obtained prior permission from the Director of Immigration. What kind of visa will your husband be applying for? It may be worthwhile having a look at our guide on visas for Hong Kong. You can also contact the Hong Kong embassy in your country. They will be able to give you the clearest answer.

Hope this helps! Rianca.
