Hello, I am originally from the UK would like to know if you could tell me what are the names of the main stores where people buy toileteries and household goods (such as detergent and shampoo)?? -Here in the UK we would use boots, or tesco, sainbury's etc.
In the US would be walmart, target, any supermarket. And also if there are any discount shops - so in the UK and USA we have things like poundland or USD 1 store - is there anywhere that I can go in Qatar and not break my pocket?
Maybe get things that arent as nice but very cheap!? I would really appreciate your help since I'm trying to make a budget and come as prepared as I can - and I am not used to any of the shop names. Thank you

Carrefour is NOT a discount store! Lulu is probably the closest thing that you are looking for. However, there are many stores here where you can get cheap stuff. Dasio in Hyatt Plaza above Home Center. Rawnaq is on C-Ring across from Al Ahli Hospital, or they also have a shop around the fabric souq. If you really want really cheap stuff from China, there is a shop behind the Popeye's (C-ring & Salwa Road), sorry I don't know the name of it. There are many places in the Najma souq that have cheap stuff from India. Some of the stuff is actually decent quality. There is also an LG store there for appliances, which is usually cheaper than Lulu. I hope this is not too late for you!
There are many FaceBook pages that advertise places that are having sales. There is also one that is for people selling their stuff when they leave, Buy It, Sell It, Swap It, Qatar. Check it out!
