I have been offered a temp job in Bergen Norway but they can't give me contract until I get a personnummer. I can't get a personnummer without a contract. Anyone any ideas on how to resolve this. Its Monday today and they want me to start Thursday so its pretty urgen.

Hi silks9 - the best place to find out about this is to contact the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (udi.no/english) of the NAV, the Norwegian state entity that handles all work-related matters (nav.no/english) directly. You'll find all the work and visa requirements on these sites.
