How long does it take for PR applications to be finalised at home affairs South Africa?

I applied for permanent residence permit in 2012 with Home Affairs and my application is awaiting adjudication. How long does it take for PR applications to be finalised at home affairs? The application status has been the same for 2 years when phoning the call centre. This will be the 4th year still waiting for an answer.

Hi Dondelan

VFS are now handling the process of visas in South Africa, it might be an idea to contact them rather than Home Affairs directly.

Maybe they can shed some light on the situation.
