I am moving to Johannesburg on a 12 month assignment (will most likely get extended) and am looking for a furnished home with a garden that is pet friendly. I have 2 small dogs that will be coming with me. Is this realistic? My housing allowance is 2,000 USD per month. My office is in Bedfordview and I would like to live nearby. Any help would be much appreciated!

I'd suggest looking at websites such as privateproperty.co.za and property24.com - both these sites list properties to buy or rent and you select your budget and area. There are also listings of estate agents on these sites, which are worthwile contacting, as they can assist you to find a home. So this would be a good start to investigate what's available in the area. Another good thing to do would be to talk to your colleagues, who most likely also live in the area - they may be able to give you some insights about where to live in relation to the office, as well as the traffic, nearby shops etc.
