What is the right salary in Norway?

This question was asked about a year ago, but never got answered, so I thought that I'd re-surface it. I was wondering you who live/lived there, how would describe the total income of NOK 700k per annum? (impossible, budget, average, high, incredible?) We are a couple. and with such a salary, what could be a reasonable rental per month which leaves enough money for the rest of things. I have no idea about it and would be helpful if you can give me some estimation.

Whether your income will be enough to live in Norway depends entirely on the lifestyle you intend to lead. But the cost of living in Norway is notoriously high. Hi rococh3t, I had an exact same question before moving. I make 520k / year and my husband is not working. tax is 31 percent. So my salary is 30000 nok. (First year you don't get salary during your vacation) We live in Oslo where rent is high. We pay 12000 per month for a 54 meters 1 bedroom apartment. Includes heating and water (warm and cold). We pay for power around 900 every 3 months. Internet is 400 a month. And I pay for my kid kindergarten 2240. And the state gives me 1000 back. For food we try not to spend to much, should be around 6500 and we try not to go out to eat. Oslo's monthly pass for transport is 600 nok. We are still able to save some money sometimes 5000 nok. You should be able to get a very good life with 700k, but check in finn.no for the rent prices and check https://skort.skatteetaten.no/skd/trekk/trekk for the tax. Let me know if you need more info.

Hi, We are planning to move to Oslo this year but Im worried about my daughters education. Their age are 5 & 7 years old. They don't speak Norwegian. Any advice on where to ask and inquire for school placement???
