I've got an salary offer of R40 000 per month. However I'm waiting payslip example with details. While waiting for the payslip details, can someone give me any range of n salary amount (after taxes) from this proposed amount of R40 000. I read somewhere that salary tax is from 10% to 40%, in what range would my salary be?

As I understand from some Internet locations annual income tax is 10%, which means that would be in my case R48 000, is this correct? I'm moving as single 40year/male, can someone provide me price ranges in city centre in capetown for single bed furnished accomodation? Many thanks

Hi Pascal,

The salary offer you have received is good by most standards. Have a look at the Cost of Living page for South Africa, to see if you think the salary offer will suit your lifestyle.

Check out the Taxes in South Africa page for a clearer understanding of how the tax system works and how it will affect your salary.

Also have a look at the Accommodation in Cape Town page for a general overview of the options that you'll have.

Good luck with your move,

Alex
