Approx wages for IT consultants from UK to KSA

I have been offered a temporary job in Riyadh for 6 weeks and I am trying to decide whether to take it or not but they haven't told me the wages yet. How much could I expect to receive and is it worth it in your opinion. Are the possible contacts to be made a good opportunity? I would appreciate anyone's view who is or has been working in Saudi Arabia.

Well, definitely don't take it unless the money is right. That's something that only you can decide - not sure how qualified you are, or what the nature of the job is, but there are a few things you should make sure are included. The company should bear the burden and cost of organising all visas and documents. Furthermore, they should pay for your accommodation, your car rental cost (no public transportation) and your return flights. For such a short time, they should sort out all the logistics surrounding this.

Make sure you take out some sort of travel insurance that covers any necessary emergency evacuations during that time period.

If you're after big money, there may be some contacts to be made, and the six-week period will allow you to get a taste of the culture and the lifestyle, something that proves difficult for many expats to acclimate to.

What kind of job you have been offered? I know some folks who are doctors, IT experts, Construction engineers etc, who have been offered temporary jobs for few months and earned handsomely and are still willing to work again and again. If you could specify the field with your sponsor would be easier to give you details and guidance.

Thanks to the people who offered advice. The job is being offered through an agency in the UK and I'm a bit confused about the tax details. I would have to invoice the agency and therefore pay tax on top of insurance as I am employed by my own one man company. How do others get on with the tax problem?
