You seem to have a considerable amount of work experience which will serve you well when looking for job opportunities in Hong Kong. While most expats work in the financial sector, there are also growing opportunities within management and IT. It would be best if you could secure a job offer before arriving in Hong Kong and unless you have some knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin, you'll be limited to applying only for positions with multinational companies.
As far as salary expectations are concerned these vary considerably depending on your experience and the company's employment packages. Some employment packages will include allowances for housing stipends, health insurance, travel and education. As the cost of living in Hong Kong is high it is worth looking at the bigger picture before accepting a job offer.
