Hi Ali,

It is a bit difficult to advise you without knowing what your area of expertise is and what skills you have. Obviously these factors effect your job prospects in Qatar.

While the majority of the workforce in Qatar is made up of expats, most of these people are transferred to the country by their company. Often the best way of finding a job in Qatar is by networking. So if you have any friends in Qatar begin by speaking to them. Alternative resources include the job sections in the Gulf Times, Peninsula Newspaper and international recruitment agencies.

In mid May I emailed two different employers to see if positions were available. They told me yes, and I've been in contact with them up to this point. However, in order to apply for these jobs I have to wait until Human Resources posts the official application. I'm trying not to be impatient, but I'm stressed out about not even being able to apply yet to jobs where I've actually had contact with the employers (as opposed to all the jobs I've applied to where I have no idea whether anyone's ever even seen my application). Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes Human Resources to post jobs? Also, do you think the employers I've been in contact with will even see my application once I send it in, or will they only see if it HR thinks it's acceptable? Thank you
