Can I drive in Ghana with an International Driving Permit ?

Does anyone know if the local authorities accept the International Driving Permit issued in an European Country or they use to raise problems?

How long do you plan on staying in Ghana?

Expats with an IDP are allowed to drive up to a year. After that you will have to get yourself a Ghanaian driving licence but the process is quite staightforward and just involves your presenting your IDP along with four passport pictures at the Transport Dept.
