My husband and I are considering whether buying a house and moving to Spain for a while is still a good idea, given the economy. This would probably only be next year, but we do need to think about whether it is still a good place to retire to.
Any ideas, suggestions or comments would be most welcome.

Belinda

Hi Belinda
It largely depends on your individual circumstances. As you may imagine the economy in Spain is not as good as it was and many of the expat jobs that used to be readily available are scarcer.
Have a look at our Accommodation in Spain page to get an idea of what the Spanish real estate market is like at the moment.
Also have a look at our Visas for Spain and Working in Spain pages to get a fuller picture of what would be needed for you to enter and stay in the country.
Hope it works out.
Best,
Xavier
