Hi All I am an Australian citizen with UK citizenship pending. We are considering the move to the Middle East and are looking at incomes/expenses at the moment. I am a Senior SAP BASIS Administrator with 12 years experience in Australia and UK, what rates can I expect?? My wife is from Hong Kong with excellent Mandarin/Cantonese/English and some French language skills. Is there much opportunity for these skills in the Middle Esat region?? What income rates can be expected?? Cheers Craig

Our Working in Qatar page gives some good information on the job market and working enviroment in the emirate and would be worth a look.
There is also a link to an article about wages in the emirate, which will give you a relatively good idea of what you could expect.
I would imagine that your skills and experience will put you in good stead to find a job. Whether your wife would be able to find a job would depend on her experience. Especially if she has worked in translation before, there may be opportunities for her as well.
I would, however, look at our Visas for Qatar and Work Permits for Qatar pages to give you an idea of what a workable solution may be.
Good luck!
