Good morning group,
i'm an American dating a lady in the philippines and working her K1 visa. We have been together for 6 years and since we have had a few hold ups on getting her and the daughter to the US i'm wanting to buy a new car! I make it back to them about every 8 weeks when i have time off from work.
She went down and put 30,000 down to hold a new Toyota Raize That was last week due to the fact that i can only send her 4k US funds a day. We now have the full amount to pay cash for this car and now the salesman informs her I can't be on the title of the car because i don't have a ACR card nor a local drivers license.
I've tried looking on the govt sites to see their rules on owning a car there and i've not been able to fine anything.
wondering if anyone has any insight for me.
Thank you in Advance from Alaska.

From what I know, most car dealers in the Philippines require a valid local driver's license or an ACR (Alien Certificate of Registration) card for foreigners to be on the title of a car. You might need to wait until you can get the ACR card or possibly put the car in your girlfriend's name for now.
