Hi , me and my family is moving to Hong Kong. I will be working in the admiralty area and I am looking for 2 bed flat in and around area which I can commute to easily.
My budget would be be between HKD 16,000 and HKD 18,000. I am also looking for good reasonable school for my son who will have to start Kindergarten in September.
Since we don't know anyone in Hong Kong I would also appreciate if you could let me kno the average monthly utility bill.

The comprehensive Expat Arrival's page on Cost of Living in Hong Kong should be pretty useful for you to guage how much you will be likely to be spending as an expat in Hong Kong.
The average rental on a two bedroom apartment is USD 3,000 per month. So rent will certainly be your biggest expense.
International school fees will start at USD 12,500. But do remember that places are limited at the most popular schools in Hong Kong so you might not have that much choice.
So the cost of living in Hong Kong is certainly not cheap for a new expat. However, salaries are generally quite high for expats to offset thes costs.
Hope this information helps. Good luck.
Generally work permits and visas for Hong Kong take four to six weeks to process.
I suggest you take a look at our Visas for Hong Kong page to find out more about the visa process and the supporting documents you will be required to submit.
Good luck with the move to Hong Kong.
