Hi
I have lived and worked out of the Philippines for more than 15 years and have not had any issues pop up in that time. As long as you are aware of your surroundings and take care I believe you will not have any issues.
Do you have any idea of where you will be living when you move to the Philippines.
Take Care and let me know if you need any further info ... more than happy to chat about life in the Philippines

Hi
I have lived and worked out of the Philippines for the last 16 years and have had very few instances where I felt unsafe in Manila.
I live in Makati with my wife and 2 children who go to school locally and I have wandered around Manila with my 2 children and again as mentioned have not had any issues.
I think it is all about being aware of your surroundings and ensuring you don't go to those areas classed as unsafe - this is a matter of speaking with other expats and finding out for yourself
Take Care and please feel free to contact me for any questions you may have
