When Can the Principal Sponsor Apply for a Dependant Visa for Spouse

In general, there isn't a required period of stay before the principal sponsor can apply for a dependant visa for their spouse, so your husband can apply for yours as soon as he has secured his employment visa. However, the process can take several weeks (normally six weeks, according to their website), depending on various factors.

For the application, the Immigration Department will generally require:

1. Proof of your husband's employment in Hong Kong (such as an employment contract or a letter from his employer)
2. Proof of your marital relationship or civil union
3. Proof that your husband can support you financially without relying on public assistance in Hong Kong and
4. Proof that you have suitable accommodation in Hong Kong.
