We're going to be moving to Jakarta at the end of this month and as a stay-at-home mom of three little ones, I'm going to have my hands full and am just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what there is to do in Jakarta with kids. Are there any playparks or kids gym areas that are safe and easily accesable that I can go to during the day or on weekends. Any suggestions welcome....

Hi Jenny, There are many options for kids in terms of schools and play schools. Currently its the summer vacation time. There are many activities for the summer time like summer camps, dance, play groups. If you can share the location where you will be settling. I could help you more in this regard.

Hi Jenny, you'll find that Jakarta is actually a pretty kid-friendly city and there are lots of fun activities to do with your children in the city. Household help is also not hard to come by in Indonesia, so if you're needing help at home with the kids, hiring a nanny is also a relatively common and easy option. We've actually just added a new section on Kids in Jakarta, so check it out!

So what about adult children. Are they allowed to come with thier parents, or will they require a job or be going to post secondary education to live there?

Raising two boys (aged 4 and 3) can be quite a handful, but once your're settled and they've joined their playgroups, you'll realize that their social calendar would be more exciting than yours. There are some parks in Kemang area where they can rough it up a bit and just about every mall has a huge section for kids. Hope to see your kids around sometime.
